Sonetta Community Market seeks to support small businesses, nonprofits and organizations in the local community through cooperative efforts, fundraisers and donations. Below is a partial list of the organizations we have supported.
Dexter House – The Dexter House is located in North East, MD. Its mission is “to bring a message of hope to individuals seeking recovery from the disease of addiction.” Sonetta raffled off a brand new 400-Piece Craftsman Tool Kit to benefit the Dexter House.
Freedom Hills Therapeutic Riding Program – This program is “a non-profit 501(c)3 equine facilitated therapy program for the benefit of people who happen to have disabilities.” Sonetta raffled off a Buffalo Log Bench to benefit Freedom Hills.
Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna Chapter – “As a reflection of God’s love, Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna creates affordable housing opportunities throughout Harford and Cecil counties by building, renovating, and repairing homes in partnership with the community.” Sonetta hosted a flea market in which all vendor space proceeds were donated to Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna Chapter.
Odd Fellows Quarter Auction – “As an organization, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows aims to provide a framework that promotes personal and social development.” Sonetta provided a basket of SCM merchandise for the Odd Fellows Annual Quarter Auction.
Paw Paw Museum – The Paw Paw Museum is dedicated to preserving the history and local tails of Port Deposit, MD. Sonettta raffled off a Cast Stone Mermaid Bird Bath to benefit the Paw Paw.
Port Deposit VFW – Sonetta used its property service skills to remove old flooring. Also, Sonetta donated to the VFW all vendor and silent auction monies, $1,150 in total, from our Fall Harvest Lot Party!
Rising Sun American Legion – Sonetta gave a monetary donation to the Children’s Christmas Party.
RSLL Field of Dreams Fundraiser – Rising Sun Little League’s mission is “to promote, develop, teach and voluntarily assist in all ways the interest of those who will participate in Little League Baseball and Softball.” Sonetta donated a store gift card to the fundraiser to support RSLL’s project of expanding the league’s baseball field.
Old South SmokeHouse 7th Annual MS Day – The Old South SmokeHouse 7th Annual MS Awareness Day included raffles, silent auctions and more. Proceeds are donated to fund the search for a MS cure. Sonetta provided a basket of SCM merchandise for the SmokeHouse raffle.
Voices of Hope, Taste of Cecil County Raffle – Voices of Hope is “a community recovery education group focused on empowerment, not enabling.” Sonetta provided an auction basket to the Voices of Hope raffle.
